Choose to Be Wise
The world is filled with smart people, yet genuine wisdom and integrity remain rare. True success in life is not measured by wealth, status, or raw intellect, but by whether we fulfill the unique purpose designed for us by our Creator. High intelligence, vast experience, and emotional skills can help us achieve great things, but without divine direction, we can still miss our true calling.
God has a good and purposeful destiny for every person, but He never forces us to walk in it. Humans are endowed with free will—our defining gift. Just as birds were made to fly, we were made with the capacity to choose. As Ephesians 2:10 tells us: "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Fulfilling that masterpiece requires more than worldly cleverness; it demands wisdom.
Ecclesiastes 7:19 reminds us, "Wisdom gives more strength to the wise than ten rulers in a city." Worldly sharpness pales in comparison to the clarity God provides:
Wisdom Chooses the Right Path: "A wise person chooses the right road; a fool takes the wrong one" (Ecclesiastes 10:2).
Intellectual Pride Is a Trap: "What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever" (Isaiah 5:21).
True Knowledge Begins with God: "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline" (Proverbs 1:7).
Reverence for God—knowing His heart, obeying His Word, and trusting the Holy Spirit—is the true source of wisdom. When we anchor ourselves in His truth, we become like the tree described in Psalm 1:2–3, planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in every season, and prospering in all we do. Letting God's Word shape our choices transforms abstract faith into purposeful action that leads directly to our destiny.
