Use your time - wisely
A wise person is someone who manages their time well, because they understand that time is literally life. The question is whether that time is spent in stress and pressure, or in a peaceful yet intentional pace. God wants us to manage our time in true peace.
Living carefully is the key. Time is the foundational thing we must master before we can manage bigger responsibilities like wealth, a company, or a team. Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits gives a great framework by distinguishing between what is important and what is urgent—that is the baseline. But a moment-by-moment realization that our time and life are deeply precious is what will truly sharpen us.
Explore your interests, whether it is writing, sports, fellowship, or other hobbies. Serve, take on a role, listen, and practice patience. To some, acts of service or spending time in prayer might look like a waste of time. But for someone who loves God, these things are both necessary and deeply fulfilling.
God created time itself. There is no such thing as "wasted time" when that time is given to God. As long as we are obedient and wise, our time will bring joy to His heart.
Ephesians 5:15-17 sums this up clearly and powerfully. Let us reflect on it: "So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do."
And Psalm 90:12 says: "Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom."
